About the Teachers
Terri Desmond, Director
My World: I am the mother of three children
ages 12, 9, and 6. I have learned so much about myself from my
children, and look forward to learning from yours! I have been
involved in the care of children since I was a teen. I
currently tutor elementary and high school students through the Lake
Washington School District in Math. I love being around kids,
and frequently host play parties at my house. I am a
Christian and I believe in the authenticity of the bible.
I teach Sunday school at our church, Northshore
Baptist in Bothell, WA. My favorite room to work is the infant
room, got to get that infant fix! I also managed
registration and child care staffing for the Tuesday morning Women's
Bible Study at Northshore which hosts over 100 women and their kids.
Our World: We are also involved with overseas relief efforts via
Compassion International, Campus Crusade for Christ and Children of
the Nations (www.cotni.org). My husband climbs mountains with BromanX,
www.bromanx.org , which raises
money and travels on short term missions to help African communities
devastated by aids.
We promote conservation and are trying to make changes in our lives
that will impact the health of our planet and of society.
Education: I will be earning my Montessori Teaching
Certificate after I have completed my first year of teaching.
I took my Montessori training for ages 2.5 thru 6 from MTP of Kent,
Washington. I have a bachelor's degree in Math, with minors in
German and Computer Architecture. I also have graduate studies
in Nutrition from the UW.
